When creating new teams in Leapsome you are able to create sub-teams to build up your hierarchical structure.
Creating a new sub-team
On the 'Company' > 'Employees' page, select 'Actions' > 'Manage Teams'. Alternatively, navigate to 'Settings' > 'Company' > 'Departments, Business Units, Divisions, Teams'. There, click 'New team' and define a name for your sub-team. By selecting a parent team (higher level team) the team automatically becomes a sub-team. You can add multiple team levels to the hierarchy. The analytics and access rights can, therefore be filtered at a more granular level based on the company's organizational structure. There is no limit in terms of how many sub-teams you can add to a team.
When creating a team or a sub-team, you can select its type:
- Team
- Department
- Division
- Business Unit
- Cost Center
- Other group
Using sub-teams in Leapsome
In the Goals module's filter 'Your Team', all team members are assigned to a parent team. A parent team called 'Marketing' will also see the goals of the sub-team 'Content Marketing'. The team members don't need to be assigned to the sub-team to see the sub-teams goals in the Goals module.
Visibility access of sub-teams and teams below it
Allowing visibility to a parent team provides the results for each of the sub-teams below it. Therefore providing cascading visibility access. For example, if there was a parent team called Product & Engineering, with a sub-team called Product and a sub-sub team called Product Design, selecting visibility in surveys/reviews for the Product & Engineering team, would also provide visibility to both the team product and the team product design.
