To make sure that you have the full picture when assessing yourself, a peer, a direct report, or a manager, Leapsome allows you to check past feedback in the context panel on the right side. Whilst filling out the assessment, you have the opportunity to gain further insight on:
- The description of what is expected on every level of that competency
- The past feedback the reviewee has received on the specific competency
- The goals of the reviewee are linked to the competency
- The comments on questions in open-text
- External files that have been uploaded for the employee
We recommend doing full 360 performance reviews on a biannual schedule and giving each other instant feedback in between. To ensure that the structured review includes the whole 6-month performance and to prevent a recent performance evaluation bias, the instant feedback should be considered as well by viewing it in the 'Context and past feedback' section.
Explore the context panel
With the use of the "Explore context" drop-down menu, managers with relevant visibility rights are able to open past assessments, competencies and their descriptions, private notes, goals, instant feedback, meetings, and user documents of the person they are reviewing for quick reference while assessing the employee. The competencies option allows you to see the level highlighted, and the users scoring on that competency over time. When clicked, each option will open a new tab so the reviewer can review the context while writing their assessment.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is shown in the past feedback graph?
Instant Feedback and Review ratings based on competencies.
Why is the graph showing 0-100?
Multiple scales of Instant Feedback and past Reviews are merged into one.
Who can see the context penal and past feedback?
The Reviewer. The amount of information displayed depends on the Reviewer and their role. A manager would have access to more information than a peer.
Why are some questions not in the context panel?
Only goals and competencies that are in your competency framework show the context feedback section with scores and context. Open-text questions will only show past comments when this option is visible. Multiple-choice questions do not have this button.
Why is no data displayed when looking into the context panel?
This can have two reasons. First, there may not yet be any data on the specific competency (e.g., if it's a newly introduced competency or the first Review in Leapsome). Second, you may not have the required access rights for that data (e.g., goals linked to the competency may only be visible to managers).
Do archived goals appear in the Goals portion of the Context panel?
No, goals that are archived before or after the review cycle has been launched will not appear in the Context panel. Only goals that are active, and visible to the reviewer will be able to be seen.
