If you have a LinkedIn Learning membership, you can upload content from LinkedIn Learning directly to Leapsome to create high-quality learning paths for your team.
Prerequisites
To make use of our integration with LinkedIn Learning, you need to make sure that:
- Each of your users who should access LinkedIn Learning courses in Leapsome has an active LinkedIn Learning license.
- You have Admin rights for LinkedIn Learning to set up the integration.
- The Leapsome Learning module is enabled in your account.
If this module is currently not included in your Leapsome package, please get in touch with your Customer Success Manager or our Support Team.
Setting up the integration
Preparing your LinkedIn Learning Account
As an Admin in LinkedIn Learning, navigate to your Settings > 'Integrate' > 'Add content to your LMS via AICC'. There, click the little switch to enable the AICC Integration and select 'Version 4.0' as the AICC version from the drop-down menu below.
Lastly, you can enter the following hostnames in order to allow Leapsome to track user activity in the AICC packages provided via LinkedIn Learning:
www.leapsome.com
leapsome.engine.scorm.com
Downloading courses from LinkedIn Learning
In LinkedIn Learning, navigate to a course that you would like to use with Leapsome. In the top right corner of the course player, click on the 'Download AICC package' button to download a .ZIP-file of the course.
Uploading courses to Leapsome
Once you have downloaded the course from LinkedIn Learning, you can upload it to Leapsome. Here, you have two options: either you directly include the course as a new step in an (existing) learning path, or you simply upload it as an individual learning element, that can later be used in learning paths.
When creating a new step in a learning path or creating a new learning element, click on 'Upload Existing Course (SCORM, AICC, xAPI, CMI5)'. Then, you will be able to upload your course as a ZIP file and give some additional information, that will be displayed along with the course in Leapsome. Save your settings and your course is ready to be used in any learning path.
Here, you can find further information on the setup and the export of AICC packages, provided by LinkedIn.
LinkedIn Learning FAQ
I have included a link to LinkedIn Learning, but I do not see the preview of the video, why is this?
If you include a link to the LinkedIn Learning course, the preview is not automatically added (for example, as opposed to a YouTube link). This is because LinkedIn Learning is only available to its members, and the link needs to be opened externally.
How will the participant get the certification once a course has been finished?
Once the course is completed on Leapsome, the completion status is sent back to LinkedIn, which then marks the completion status on LinkedIn too. The course certificate will be issued and seen on LinkedIn directly, but will not be visible n Leapsome as the course is external.
Will courses that learners take directly in LinkedIn also show as completed in Leapsome?
No. In order for LinkedIn Learning courses to show as completed in Leapsome, the courses need to be launched from within Leapsome.
