The competency framework is tightly integrated with core parts of Leapsome, including Performance Reviews, Goals & OKRs, and Instant Feedback.
Performance Reviews
When creating a performance review, questions can be tied to specific competencies within the competency framework. The reviewer will then see the description for each competency corresponding to the reviewee’s level when filling in the review, ensuring feedback is objective against the criteria for the reviewee’s seniority. Once the review process is complete, the resulting analytics are mapped to the competency framework. If competencies were utilized within the platform, you can find further information on the goals within the context panel of the assessment to gain more insight into the past progress of the competencies if they were linked to other reviews, goals, or instant feedback.Â
Instant Feedback
Similarly, competencies can be used within Leapsome’s Instant Feedback feature. This means, in addition to providing overall feedback, you can write comments linked to a specific competency and rate the individual’s competency on a sliding scale.
Goals
The competency framework can be used within the Goals module to link individual goals to specific competencies. In this way, when employees have performance development goals that they are using to improve specific competencies, they can track which competency they are improving with their goal. These goals can then be leveraged within the reviews modules when assessing the development of an employee. More information on how to link a goal to a competency can be found here.Â
Learning
Learning paths can be linked to specific competencies if they are used to assess or improve the competency. When learning paths are linked to competencies that are associated to specific users or teams, these paths can be recommended to those users, or as a means to track progress of that competency within other modules, such as performance reviews. More information on linking competencies to learning paths can be found in this article.Â
Compensation
When a competency framework is put in place and utilized within the reviews module, then the scores of those competencies that a user received with performance reviews can be leveraged within the compensation module when determination compensation packages. For example, when competencies are assessesed through reviews, you can select to use specific competencies from specific cycles as input factors to leverage a total score that will be used when determining a compensation increase for an employee. More information on how utilize competency scores as input factors in compensation cycles can be found in the article Cycle setup: input factors.Â
