Updating progress of a goal

If you own, manage or contribute to an active goal, you can update its progress at any time.

Updating goals from a full goal page

First, click on the goal you wish you update. When in the Home tab, you can click any of the goals in the list view, or navigate to the Goals module tab to find the specific goal you want to update. Click on the goal in the list or tree view. 

Once open, click on the green button next to the key result you wish to update.

After clicking, you can update the key result at the bottom of the pop-up, and add a comment if you'd like to insert a qualitative update. Enter the current value(s) for the main goal / objective and / or its key results. We will automatically update the progress of the goal based on key result updates - here's more information on how the progress is calculated.

You can manually set an overall confidence level for each goal/OKR and also for each Key Result. There are five different confidence levels: Canceled, Off Track, Delayed, On Track, and Done. 

You can set a confidence level by opening the goal and selecting a status under the progress bar.  The status for each key result can be set by clicking the question mark at the end of each key result progress bar. 

If you no longer want to track a goal, you can archive it. The goal will appear when filtering by 'state' > 'archived'. Please note that it will no longer be included in the overall progress calculation and can not be edited anymore. You can find more on archiving goals here. 

Updating Key Results from anywhere

You can also update key results from anywhere goals show up in Leapsome, including the Home page and the Meetings module. To do so, expand the goal you wish to update, click on the key result you want to change, and edit the current value in the popup. 

In Meetings

In the meeting, click the 'Goals' section on the right-hand side to see the goals of the participants. Click on the goal you wish to update, then click on any key results to pop-up their editing page.

In the Home Tab

There will be a box that gives you cumulated progress across all your goals. Click the 'expand' button on the upper right-hand corner of the box that lists goal progress to expand view to all goals.
