Setting survey reminders

Sending survey reminders to participants can help increase participation. Depending on how long the survey period is, it is worth sending out a reminder after the halfway point and shortly before the end of the survey, drawing attention to the deadline. With Leapsome, you can therefore automate reminders.

When setting up a survey, you can define how many reminders to send to the users who haven’t answered in the 'Timing’ section of your survey settings. Generally, 1 reminder will be sent 2 days before end of the round, and the rest will be evenly spaced out between start of the round, and 2 days before the survey deadline. Reminders will only be sent to participants who still have an open task, meaning they have not completed the survey. 

Once you have kicked off the survey, you can see when the last reminder went out and when the next one will be triggered.

How can I trigger survey reminders manually?

If you want to trigger an extra reminder manually, navigate to the survey for which you’d like to send the reminder (‘Surveys’ tab > ‘Your surveys’> click on the name of the survey). Then, expand to see the ‘Survey Settings’ on the left-hand menu, navigate to the ‘Timing’ section, and click ‘send an extra reminder.’ Please note that reminders will only be sent to users who haven’t answered yet and can only be sent as long as the survey round is open.

You can customize the content of the reminders you would like to send under ‘Notifications.’ You can define different translations for your customized notifications as well by clicking the symbol on the right-hand side of each text box. 

Survey reminders in onboarding and exit surveys

Reminders for dynamically triggered surveys (onboarding or exit surveys) will be sent out every week on Monday to participants that haven’t answered yet. Similar to other surveys, you can check out the timing for the next reminder in the survey under “Survey settings”> “Timing.” You also have the option to send out an extra reminder manually.

How long will a dynamically triggered survey remain open?

Dynamically triggered surveys will remain open for one calendar month after they have been released.
