What are customizable impact drivers?
Please read here first to learn the basics of Impact Drivers.
The default target improvement area when calculating Impact Drivers is for engagement. Meaning, typically, Impact Drivers will tell you which areas for development will improve engagement scores specifically.
Though this is the default, you can alter the target area. For example, you may want to determine how to improve feelings of 'Psychological Safety,' another one of Leapsome's built-in question categories. Using our customizable Impact Targets, you can do this.
The Impact Driver scores of questions will then tell you how much those questions impact your new Target when you do so.
For example, if you've changed the Impact Target to be 'Psychological Safety,' and you now see the question 'I am able to maintain a good work-life balance while working remotely' is a 'Very Strong' Impact Driver, you can infer that working to improve the remote work-life balance of your employees will positively improve feelings of psychological safety. You could then lead a workshop on work-life balance, provide relevant materials, check-in more often about this question with your employees, or even change working structures and incentives.
These customizable Impact Targets, along with Impact Driver analysis, will help your people operations team prioritize areas for action in a data-backed and robust manner.

How do I set a new target for the impact drivers?
You can change which question is the target of the impact driver analysis when in the settings of a survey. First, navigate to 'Surveys' > 'Your surveys' > click on the survey in question (e.g., your engagement pulse survey). When there, or when creating a survey for the first time, navigate to the 'Questions' section and look in the list to find the question you want to act as the target for your impact driver analysis.
You can then click the box next to the question you want to be the target of the analysis:
In the survey analytics, the impact analysis of each question will be calculated based on its impact on the chosen question.
