While goals are managed and updated on the 'Goals' tab, you can also include them in reviews. This option is available for all active individual goals (assigned to an employee) or any goals the employee contributes to. You can also filter to include goals only associated with a specific tag.
To do so, ensure 'Goals' are part of your Leapsome package, and the module is enabled in the 'Admin Settings.'
When setting up a review template, in the 'Questions' section, you will see the option to include 'Active individual goals.' When enabled, this will automatically create an additional question for every goal that meets the selected inclusion criteria. By default, active individual goals are selected. If you remove all filters, this means all non-private goals of your account are pulled in. You can include goals based on...
- Participant role (goal owner or contributor, key result owner or contributor, initiative owner or contributor, or Goal Manager (for team/company goals only)
- Goal Tags (e.g. Q1 2023)
- Purposes (business goal, personal development goal)
- Cycles
- States (active, draft, archived)
- Goal create drate
You can specify the criteria of what goals you would like to be included for the employees in the specific cycle through selecting granular filters regarding the goal or the contribution type. It is recommended to include goals where the participant is the goal owner or contributor to the role to ensure that goals where the participant was actively participating in would be included in their cycle.
More recommendations include:
Specifying goal cycles/ goal creation date: Depending on how frequently you run your review cycles, you can specify goals that are only relevant to specific cycles or time frames to be included in the specific cycle.
Purposes: If the review cycles are based more on personal review development, rather than business development, you can specify the purpose to only include personal goals within the specific cycle.
States: By default, only active goals will be included in the cycle, however, if you would like to include goals that have since been archived through a past cycle or timeframe, you can included archived goals as well as active goals to ensure all goals relevant for the cycle are included in the review of the participant.
Leapsome will check non-private eligible goals continuously until the review is completed (e.g. the cycle is closed, or either the reviewee or manager has completed their assessment). This way, all applicable goals will be available to assess.
In the review, the goal will display the progress and provide a link to update or comment on the goal directly.
Please note: Any goal with visibility set to completely private will not be included in that participant's review cycle.
