What's a goal tree?
Leapsome's goal tree allows you to visualize dependencies and alignment between different goals. It helps employees to understand how their individual goals contribute to team or company level goals. It also helps to highlight dependencies between different goals.
How do I set up the goal tree? And what are parent goals?
Leapsome's goal trees are dynamically calculated.
First, make sure that the respective setting in your "Admin settings" section is enabled:
In order to generate the goal tree, you need to link goals to a parent goal. To do this, click "Edit" on a goal, scroll down to the section "Does it contribute to another, higher-level goal?"and select the goal that your current goal should be linked to. Don't forget to "Save and Activate" afterwards.
Please note that the goal that you want to link needs to be created before just like any other goal.
Having linked a few goals, you will then be able to generate a goal tree. Please note that key results are not currently shown in the goal tree.
Which goals are shown in the goal tree?
To show up in the goal tree,
- a personal goal needs to have at least one child and / or a parent (otherwise it will appear in the "Unassigned personal goals" bucket.
- team- or company goals will automatically appear at the top-level, unless you manually assign them a parent.
How can I change the company purpose displayed at the top?
You can change this in the admin settings.
