Impersonation is a useful function that allows Admins to log in to colleagues' Leapsome accounts. This can be helpful to understand what the platform or processes (e.g. a Learning Path) would look like for a specific user. It also enables Admins to help troubleshoot in case a team member reports any issues.

What is impersonation access?
Impersonation access allows designated Leapsome admins to view the platform through the eyes of the employee who has been granted access. This includes visibility into surveys, reviews, private goals, and other user-specific content.
Granting Impersonation Access
Employees can decide whether to grant impersonation access to Leapsome admins. To enable this feature, employees need to click on their name in the top right corner of the Leapsome interface, select 'Personal settings' and check the box in the 'Impersonation' segment. It's important to note that the employee can disable this access any time.
Impersonation access is automatically disabled after seven days from the date of granting access, providing an additional layer of security and ensuring controlled usage.
How can admins impersonate?
Once the employees have granted access, admins will see an icon on the profile of the user in the 'Company' > ‘Employees’ page to initiate impersonation. If the employee hasn’t been granted impersonation access, then admins need to reach out to them via internal communication channels.
For how long can admins impersonate user accounts?
Impersonation access can be disabled at any given point by the employee. After seven days from the date of granting access, we automatically disable impersonation access.

Read-Only Mode
Admins can only view the content during impersonation, which means that admins won’t be able to take any actions on behalf of the employee who is being impersonated. This read-only mode ensures that the integrity of the user's data and settings remains intact.
What do the admins see in the impersonation mode?
Admins will see everything that the impersonated employee sees — except the suggestion box under the instant feedback module.
Impersonation best-practices and examples
As a super-admin, you're likely to engage with Leapsome more extensively than others, granting you knowledge that can benefit your colleagues.
1) Your colleagues might contact you regarding a task they can't locate in their 'Tasks' list. These tasks can be hidden either within the module itself or displayed differently in the list. As a super-admin, you can simply request the employee to enable impersonation, impersonate their account and verify if the task is missing or if there’s a particular location they should be checking.
For example, an employee mentions that they can’t find where to participate in a survey they were invited to. By impersonating them, you could guide them to the relevant section of the platform while ensuring that the participation prompt is present.
2) A manager reports that they can’t view their team goals. Given your broader access as a super-admin, troubleshooting and assisting your managers can be challenging from your point of view alone. Through impersonation, you can double-check if these goals are absent from the manager’s perspective and ensure there are no visibility settings hindering their view.
3) A manager has already signed their assessment in a review cycle, however, has to make adjustments. As a super-admin, you can unlock signed assessments for any last-minute changes. After unlocking the assessment, the manager might require guidance on locating the assessment and ensuring the content is preserved. With impersonation, you can quickly assist your managers in finding their assessments. Please see the recording at the bottom that put this example in action.
4) An employee cannot find their finalized and signed assessment. If the review cycle is still active the assessment of the employee might not be under past assessments but rather under ongoing assessments. The employee might need guidance on locating the assessment. With impersonation, you can quickly assist your employee in finding their assessments.
