Who can create new assessment cycles?
Cycles can be created by admins or - if you have enabled this setting as an account administrator - managers, i.e. users that have at least one direct report, or normal users.
What are the different roles within a cycle?
- The 'Template owner' is the person creating/setting up the template from which cycles are launched. The template owner
- can edit template settings
- can see the results of the resulting cycles created after they were made template owner
- can't edit cycle setting if they are not also the cycle owner
- The 'Cycle owner' is the person setting up the cycle. The cycle owner
- can define and update the cycle settings (scope, participants, timeline, questions)
- can view all completed assessments within the cycle
- is the template owner for automation-based cycles
- is the person kicking off the cycle for manually created cycles
- can edit cycle settings
- can see the results of that specific cycle
- A 'participant' is any employee being assessed in your cycle. Depending on your cycle settings, participants
- can write a self-evaluation
- can nominate their peers
- can share their results with their direct manager or another person
- can sign results digitally
- The 'manager' is the direct manager of the participant. Depending on your cycle settings, managers
- can write a manager assessment for the participant
- can confirm or change the peer nominations of the participant
- can view the peer and direct report assessment of a participant they're managing
- can share the results with the participant

- The 'direct report' of the participant is an employee that is directly managed by the participant. Depending on your cycle settings, direct reports
- can write a direct report assessment for the participant
- (they cannot see any other assessments of the participant)
- The 'peers' of the participant is another employee that doesn't have to be closely related to the participant. Depending on your cycle settings, peers
- can actively nominate themselves as contributors for other participants
- can write peer assessments for the participant
- (they cannot see any other assessments of the participant)
- If you assign additional managers to a review, additional managers can:
- can write a manager assessment for the participant
- can view the peer and direct report assessment of a participant they're managing
- You can enable custom visibility for HRBPs in the review template settings. If the option is enabled, HRBPs
- can access the review cycle and see the progress of employees that are assigned to them
- can edit contributors (e.g. peers)
- cannot make any other changes or add participants
Please note: If an Admin or Super-Admin is also participating in an assessment, you may be unsure about what the affected user will see. In such scenario, Leapsome applies whichever visibility would give the user access to more data. So if Admins are allowed to see all reviews immediately, once completed, whereas Reviewees would see the Results only 'Once the manager shared', the Admin visibility would apply for that user. This however is not the case for an admin's own review, when they are participating in the cycle (They will only be able to see their manager's results for their own review once they've shared it, if the reviewee visibility settings are set that way).
