While the Leapsome platform offers a wide array of functionalities and features to run reviews according to the needs of your organization, some users (HR representatives running a review cycle or participants in a review cycle) might need context and clarifications about best practices or which approach is best for them. It may be the case that you are using our review's module correctly, but may not be getting the most value you could receive.
This article offers some recommendations/guiding questions for anyone running a review cycle to consider/communicate with relevant stakeholders before launching a review:

- What is the difference between level 1 and level 2 for each skill?
- Are managers and peers aware of all the levels within their department?
Ensure employees of your organization are aligned on your organizational scoring philosophy for the review scales and labels you have
- What constitutes a score of x?
- Do want to use numbers and/or labels in your scales for the review assessment?
- What is the difference between a score of 4 compared to a 3?
- What does ‘exceeding expectations’ (or 4th data point in the scale) look like in relation to ‘meeting expectations’ (or 3rd data point in the scale)?
- If you use multiple scales for different types of reviews, are all relevant users aware of how similar/different scales are to be used/scored for different contexts?
- What do I do if I don’t know what score to give?
- How do I know if I am scoring harshly, fairly or leniently?
Ensure managers know how skills, levels and goals in Leapsome feed into the questions asked in a review assessment
- Do managers know which goals/skill descriptions feed into their direct report's review assessment questions?
- Are managers able to identify if a wrong skill level was assigned to a user and hence received a wrong set of questions for their review assessment?
- Are there business or personal goals that were or were not included in the direct report's review that was supposed to be included?
Allow all stakeholders in a review (admins running review, reviewee, peers, primary and additional managers) to do a test run so that they know what to expect
- A test review for running a 360 assessment
- A test review for running a probation appraisal assessment
